Then you are a “scanner”. The term was chosen by US life and careers coach Barbara Sher and written about in her recent book “What Do I Do When I Want to Do Everything? - A revolutionary program for doing everything that you love”.

Who am I?
I’m John Williams, a confirmed scanner, attendee of Barbara Sher’s 2007 Scanner Workshop and a portfolio worker (careers coach, consultant, writer, musician).
The purpose of this website is to enable people to meet up in the UK.

We are already hatching exciting plans for our next meeting on Tuesday 15 July.
There are a lot of us scanners who are incredibly smart and creative and passionate and yet aren’t making a proper living out of our genius! I thought it’s time we did something about this so the theme of our July Scanners Night is “Making money from your many ideas“.
Special Guest: Judith Morgan
As scanners we don’t want to spend our whole lives bringing one idea to fruition. We have too many ideas for that! So our special guest in July will show us how to make our ideas make money fast (and spot which ones should remain just a hobby).
Business Mentor, Wealth Coach and Serial Entrepreneur Judith Morgan started her first business, an accountancy firm, at the age of 22 which she sold twenty years later for a six-figure sum. She has since created and sold (or licensed) businesses in travel, stress management, cleaning, restaurants and more.
Judith is creator of online club LonelyEntrepreneur.com and partner in the TheMoneyGym.com. Her latest passion is buying UK properties for £1 (she might explain this if people are interested on the night).
I’ve had a couple of coaching sessions with Judith and she covers in an hour what most experts teach you in a weekend course. She really does know some shortcuts to success, and will use her laser-like intensity to show us scanners the most efficient route to make money from our ideas – while still having an enjoyable life!

What happens?
Our meetings are pretty informal. We kick off with a talk or mini workshop and we then have a chance to have a drink and mingle with the other scanners.
